Is it rumor or rumour ?

I am just trying to play with words here and in no way shape,size, or form, a Ninja for words. However; I would like to articulate that some words may phonetically sound the same as in a homonym, and may have the same meaning in different parts of the world but then the word may have a different spelling depending upon where you are in the world, geographically speaking.

For example:

Rumor and rumour

Humor and Humour

etc…

the difference is the letter U ….

and is that an oxymoron or what ….

the letter U that pretty much indicates that the difference is U ( or should I say you)….
