Are we getting enough sleep in a day ?

I see sleeping as a one way of resting as I think that resting is like bringing our body to a ’state of zero’  and thereby preparing us be ready for our next venture.

Resting adequately can help improve our performance and productivity. If we do not get enough rest then our next venture may be impacted as our body and mind may not coordinate in ways that help us deliver a superior performance.

Some of us may argue that we used to do all-nighters when we were younger and we were good but then a counter argument is that as we get older, our body tends to get slower and may not synchronize with our mind and result in a lag between what we think we can do and what we can really do.

To decrease the lag, we need to rest and sleeping enough is one way to achieve enough rest.

Now, the term ‘enough’ can be subjective as for some people 6 hours of sleep may be enough and for others 10 hours of sleep may fall short and you may have to identify what is an optimum amount of sleep that works for you.
