Are we ready for computers using SSD ?

SSD refers to solid state drives. My understanding is that the SSD technology has been there for a long time but we have not been using the technology on a large scale perhaps owing to the high cost. However; if we were to look at what benefits the SSD provides then we would notice that the performance of the computers are magnified.
I think SSD is here to stay as the benefits outweigh the cost.
