How do you celebrate anniversaries?

An anniversary, by definition, falls 1 year after an event and the event can be pretty much anything from the first time you saw someone, the first time you talked to someone, the first time you made out, the first time you saw a movie together, the first time you cooked a meal together, the first time you got engaged, the first time you got married etc.

The main idea is to celebrate a special day in our lives and to perhaps the ‘first time’ something happens and maybe there is a small thought in the corner of our brain that leads us to believe that if we celebrate the event will grow from a seed to a tree.

I would think that there is no right way or wrong way to celebrate anniversaries as long as the main idea behind the celebration is clear. Some of us celebrate for a whole week to mark an occasion whereas some of us celebrate only the day, perhaps depending upon the level of detail we want in our lives and then there are some who pay so much attention to detail that things get confusing sometimes, especially when there are so many questions to answer.

For Example ; if the anniversary was on 11 May 2008, which falls on a Sunday, then should we celebrate on 11 May every year (falls on Monday in the year 2009 and Tuesday in the year 2010), or should we celebrate on the second Sunday of May every year, or should we celebrate on the 16th of May 2009 ( which is the following weekend after 11 May) or the 9th of May 2009 (which is the weekend prior to 11 May; but then is it perhaps too early).

I would think that the right answer is it depends as long you celebrate.
