Does our calendar repeat itself?

I remember that I was taught that history repeats itself but i was also wondering if our calendar does too and the answer is in the positive.

For example; the year 2009 is similar to 1998 and the year 1987 before that and so on if we were to extra polate backwards in time. If we were to extra polate forwards the next year similar to 2009 will be in 2015, 2026 and so on.
