Have you experienced a motion aftereffect ?

Lets imagine that at first you are a seeing a moving object for some time ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes, and follow up by looking a stationary object, then you experience a visual illusion called as a motion aftereffect.The stationary object may seem to move in a direction opposite to the direction of the moving object.

For Example; take a look at the waterfall and then look at rocks beside the waterfall and you may see the rocks starting to move upwards.

Another example I found was the counter rotating spirals.
