Daddy, I can also think outside the box
The other day while my son was coloring inside the square box, I suggested that he may want to color inside the box because the instruction says that he will lose points if he colors outside the box.
The irony in the statement was blatant the moment I made the suggestion as while i was growing up, my parents and teachers instructed me to focus and think inside the box for such a long time whereas the moment I graduated and started facing the real world, I had to start learning how to think outside the box.
Isn’t that ironical ?
Focusing is usually related to convergence and thinking inside the box. On the other hand, solving real problems needed us to think outside the box.
How are we expected to think outside the box when all the years we have invested in thinking inside the box ?
