Shrinking a Sphere
One of the questions that popped up in my mind is “Can we shrink a sphere” ?
To answer this question, l had to go back to my fundamentals.
We might remember that the three dimensions (in space ) are length, breadth, and height. Mathematically, we would use the variables x, y, and z to represent them in the Cartesian world.
When we go from a 3 dimensional object like a sphere or a 2 dimensional object like a circle to a 1 dimensional object like a point, then the equation would look like what we see on the left hand side.
One interpretation can be that a point is nothing but a sphere or circle which has a radius of zero.
Hence, we can shrink a sphere if we can reduce the radius of the sphere to zero.
